പാറേക്കാട്ടില്‍ മാര്‍ ജോസഫ്‌ (1956-1984)
He attended the Second Vatican Council from 1962 to 1965, and served asPresident of the Syro-Malabar Episcopal Conference, of the Kerala Catholic Episcopal Conference, and of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of India (1972–1976).

When the Archdiocese of Ernakulam-Angamaly was elevated to the rank of a major archdiocese on December 16, 1992, Mar Anthony Padiyara became the first Major Archbishop.
